Tesamorelin, Sermorelin and Ipamorelin

These names appear together in discussions of growth-hormone-related signaling, but they do not identify the same molecule or the same receptor mechanism.

Keep the structures distinct

The FDA tesamorelin chemistry review (opens in a new tab) describes its peptide identity and chemical modification. The IUPHAR/BPS sermorelin structure reference (opens in a new tab) identifies sermorelin as an amidated 29-amino-acid segment related to human growth hormone-releasing hormone.

These structural distinctions belong in the reference record. A shared association with growth-hormone signaling should not replace the exact identity of the compound under discussion.

A different receptor pathway

The NCI ipamorelin definition (opens in a new tab) describes a pentapeptide acting as a ghrelin mimetic at the ghrelin or growth-hormone secretagogue receptor. The original ipamorelin characterization (opens in a new tab) provides experimental context for its description.

Receptor pathway and downstream response are different fields of a comparison. Keep both visible, together with the system and conditions under which the response was measured.

Make an evidence-based comparison

  • Identify the exact sequence, chemical form and modification.
  • State the receptor or pathway discussed by the reference.
  • Keep experimental findings separate from clinical indications and approval records.
  • Check whether two sources actually measured the same endpoint.

A table with these fields is more informative than grouping compounds only by an advertised goal. Avoid converting a mechanistic comparison into a ranking of personal benefits.

What this reference does not establish

This page does not supply dosing, cycling, combination or anti-aging instructions. It does not imply that a research material has the quality or status of a particular approved medicine. Any health-related use requires its own appropriate clinical and regulatory assessment.
